Myron Emory Nimrod ("M. E. N.") Howell (1833-1888), a native of Palmyra, New York, received a bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in 1858. He worked for the Pontiac Gazette until 1862 and then served in the Union Army. After the Civil War, Howell worked for the United States General Land Office in Washington, D.C. In 1872, he moved to Saint Cloud, Minnesota, where he worked for the Saint Cloud Press until mid-1873, when he returned to Michigan. He later resumed his wor...
